Presidential building of Russia

President of Russia

• Russia is the largest country
• Four of the world's largest rivers (Lena, Ob, Volga, and Yenisey)
• Also the world’s deepest freshwater lake (Baikal 5,715 ft.)
• Ural, Caucasus, Sayan, Yablonovyy, Stanovoy, Verkhoyanski, and Kolyma are the mountains in Russia
• Highest point is Mt. Elbrus (18,510 ft.)
• Central Siberian is the only plateau
• Northern European, and West Siberian are the plains

Part 2:

• The climate regions are Steppe, Humid Continental, Subarctic, Tundra, and Highland
• Natural vegetation is Desert Scrub and Waste, Temperate Grassland, Deciduous, Coniferous, and Mixed Forests, Tundra, and Highland

  Vladimir Lenin

• The cold climate made a perfect defense in WWII, and the Napoleon wars

Part 3:

Picture of the climate

• The population of Russia was 141,930,000 in 2011
• The official language is Russian
• Main religions are Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism

Part 4:

• Mongols controlled Russia for more than 200 years
• 1547: Ivan IV was the first czar (Supreme ruler)
• 1861: created Russifacation which made people speak Russian and follow the Eastern Orthodox Christianity
• 1917: Vladimir Lenin came to power and communism started in Russia
• 1922: USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) or Soviet Union was created
• 1985: Ended Soviet Union
• After that the economy moved from command to market

Part 5:

• Natural Resources are Coal, Tin, Gems, Lead, Gasoline, Zinc, Bauxite, Cobalt, Natural Gas, Timber, Nickel, Gold, Silver, Copper,

Hydroelectric power, Iron ore, and Chromium

• Most manufacturing and trade is in the Europe part of Russia
• Most of the Asia side is Nomadic herding, and little to no activity

Part 6:

• Joined NATO
• Positive trend in foreign relations
